Navajeevan Shelter serves as a
constant reference point for the child offering
him/her a safe space to explore his/her
aspiration to develop, learn various skills and
re-experience a sense of security and stability.
Programmatic expansion into education, savings,
health care, job placements follow the
initiation of Navajeevan Shelter.
at present Navajeevan maintains
and organises 3 shelters. There are two night
shelters, viz. NEEDA and VENNELA, considered to
be more suitable for those children not prepared
for a structured life. Besides the night
shelters, a Round the Clock Shelter, a 24 hour
residential program is being catered to the
children in the age group of 6 - 16 years. The
tender ones are given emotional support that
they are badly in need of, in addition to
meeting their personal and medical needs, with
an emphasis on different forms of formal and
non-formal education which includes literacy
programmes, craftworks, vocational training
etc., The elder ones are given a secured stay
away from the streets and awareness on health
care especially drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and other
serious diseases is provided apart from
directing their minds to social values and
principles so as to bring them back into the
society
